The updated CEUSpace.com and eAcademics LLC Privacy Notice goes into effect on May 13, 2024
CEUSpace.com and eAcademics LLC. (collectively “CEUSpace”, “us”, “we”, “our”) We are committed to protecting your privacy while providing a positive experience on our website and using our products and services.
This Privacy Notice (“Notice”) explains our privacy practices and provides information on how and why we collect, use, and share your personal information through our interaction with you in relation to our products and services, when you visit our websites, and associated sub-domains (“Website“) when you use our desktop, mobile applications, our integrated business apps or our digital contract signing (“Apps,” or “Products”) refers to our classes and educational products. (“Services”) refers to employee and student assistance activities such as Career Placement, Financial Aid, and Record Keeping. The Notice also describes choices that may be available to you regarding the use, access, deletion, and correction of your personal information.

We understand the importance of privacy, especially when it comes to communication via SMS (Texting). We are committed to safeguarding your SMS contact and content data. Therefore, we want to assure you that we do not sell or give out any SMS contact or content data to 3rd parties.
When you communicate with us via SMS (Texting), we may collect certain information, such as your phone number and the content of your messages. This information is solely used to respond to your questions, provide customer support, communications regarding CEUSpace’s programs, campus updates, or deliver requested services. We don’t use this data for any other purpose without your written consent will not sell or share the SMS opt-ins with third parties.

Limited Use for APIs
CEUSpace’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Requests from End Users regarding personal information we process on behalf of our Customers as a Data Processor
In general, when processing the content of communications such as voicemails, faxes, Chat sessions, SMS, phone recordings etc. in connection with our Products or Services, we do so on behalf of our Regulating Agencies such as the Department of Education, State of California BPPE, and in accordance with their instructions as a data processor. This means that if you believe CEUSpace may have collected or stored personal information about you on behalf of one of our Regulating Agencies as a data processor or if you wish to access, review, modify or delete any content of your communications, under applicable law or otherwise, you should direct your request to that Agency.
Your Additional Privacy Rights as a Resident of Certain U.S. states
The rights described in this section apply only if you are a resident of a state within the United States that has an applicable and effective privacy law providing for the below rights.
Data portability: You can ask for a downloadable copy of your personal information in a machine-readable format. You can also request that we transmit the data to someone else where it’s technically possible.
Knowledge and access: You may have the right to know more about personal information that we have collected and disclosed in the preceding 12 months. You may be able to access, receive details on collection, the purpose of processing, and any sharing that may have occurred.
Deletion: You have the right to request CEUSpace to delete the personal information we have collected about you under certain circumstances.
Non-discrimination for the exercise of your privacy rights: You have the right to not receive discriminatory treatment by CEUSpace for the exercise of your privacy rights.
Rectification: If you believe that any personal information we are holding about you is incorrect or incomplete, you can request that we change, correct, or supplement the data. You can also correct some of this information directly by logging into your account, if you are a customer. Please contact us as soon as possible if you notice any inaccuracy or incompleteness.
Opt-out of selling or sharing your personal information: You have the right to request CEUSpace to stop sharing your personal information for the purposes of cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. You may opt out of having your cookie identifiers used for this type of sharing by turning on the Global Privacy Control at the browser level. CEUSpace does not sell your personal information as may be commonly understood. However, you may opt out of having your personal information shared with certain vendors that we use for providing insights about user interactions with our website and for delivering ads to you.
Federal Agencies: after agreeing to CEUSpace sharing your information with Federal agencies such as The Department of Education, FASA, State of California BPPE, other credential agencies and other agencies associated with your application for the purposes of your continuation of your enrollment at CEUSpace, this information cannot be withdrawn, deleted or expunged. The information may be updated if inaccurate with proof of inaccuracies. To remove this information please contact the appropriate agency directly.
No Automated Decision Making: We do not undertake any decision making about you based solely on automated processing, including profiling; however, certain features of our Services could be used by our staff for decision-making purposes.
We will not share your personal information with third parties for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes unless you have agreed to such disclosure.
We will verify your request using your name and email. Depending on the nature of your request, we may need additional information to verify your identity. You may not authorize an agent other than legal representation to make a request on your behalf to exercise your privacy rights under applicable California privacy laws. California laws prevails in regards to representation issues that may arise in regards to our Privacy Policy.
We are a California Limited Liability Company and the use of our website, products, and services apps, you agree to be subject to California laws. You further agree that California laws supersedes all other state laws. If you do not agree, do not use our website, products, services, or apps.

These choices do not apply to service notifications or other required communications that are considered part of certain Apps and Services, which you may receive periodically unless you stop using or cancel the App or Service in accordance with its terms and conditions.
Keeping your information secure is important to us. We have taken appropriate steps designed to reduce the risk that your personal information may be subject to loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction.
HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We will retain your personal information for no longer than is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which the information was originally collected unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law, for legal, tax or regulatory reasons, or other legitimate and lawful business purposes.
Where we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize it.
INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
We operate and may process information in multiple jurisdictions, both in and outside the United States, such that some Education Partners and Service Providers may be located or process information outside of the jurisdiction in which you reside. In such cases, your Personal Information may be collected, used, disclosed, stored, and processed in these other jurisdictions for the purposes described in this policy. The data protection and other laws of the United States and other countries might differ from your jurisdiction. In addition, your Personal Information may be subject to the laws of those other jurisdictions, including lawful requirements to disclose Personal Information to government authorities.
Data Privacy Frameworks (EU-U.S. DPF, UK Extension, Swiss-U.S. DPF)
CEUSpace. complies with the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (EU-U.S. DPF), the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF, and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Swiss-U.S. DPF) as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce. United Kingdom (and Gibraltar) is reliant on the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF. If there is any conflict between the terms in this privacy policy and the EU-U.S. DPF Principles and/or the Swiss-U.S. DPF Principles, the Principles shall govern. CEUSpace processes personal data that customers choose to submit to the services as customer-generated content, call detail records, and account information. The purposes for such processing is the provision, maintenance, support, and improvement of the services.

In compliance with the EU-U.S. DPF and the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF and the Swiss-U.S. DPF, CEUSpace commits to cooperate and comply respectively with the advice of the panel established by the EU data protection authorities (DPAs) and the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority (GRA) and the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) with regard to unresolved complaints concerning our handling of personal data received in reliance on the EU-U.S. DPF and the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF and the Swiss-U.S. DPF. Under certain conditions, individuals may invoke binding arbitration through the Data Privacy Framework Panel. Enforcement Authority
The Federal Trade Commission has jurisdiction over CEUSpace’s compliance with the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (EU-U.S. DPF) the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF, and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Swiss-U.S. DPF).

Individual rights to access and to limit use and disclosure

Liability for Onward Transfers
In the context of an onward transfer, CEUSpace has responsibility for the processing of personal information it receives under the EU-U.S. DPF, the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF, and the Swiss-U.S. DPF and subsequently transfers to a third party acting as an agent on its behalf. CEUSpace shall remain liable under the EU-U.S. DPF Principles if its agent processes such personal information in a manner inconsistent with the Principles unless CEUSpace proves that it is not responsible for the event giving rise to the damage.
CEUSpace does not knowingly provide products or services directly to children under the age of 16 or knowingly collect or solicit personal information from or about children under the age of 16 outside of the school offering, which is subject to the Children’s COPPA notice. The California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (“CCPA”) requires us to make additional disclosures. If you are a California resident, please read this section for additional disclosures and information on rights you may have under California law. In the event of a conflict between this California Addendum and the remainder of this Privacy Policy, this section shall take precedence for California residents. While we do not disclose Personal Information to third parties in exchange for monetary compensation, we do disclose or make available Personal Information to Service Providers in order to receive certain services or benefits from them, such as when we allow third-party tags to collect information such as your browsing history when using our Services, in order to improve and measure our ad campaigns. California law may consider these activities to be the “sale” or “sharing” of Personal Information for cross-contextual behavioral advertising. We do not have any actual knowledge that we have sold or shared Personal Information of any consumer under the age of 16.
Sensitive Personal Information. We do not use Sensitive Personal Information for any purpose other than that reasonably anticipated to accomplish the purpose for which it is collected.
Retention. For each category of Personal Information collected, we only retain such Personal Information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy and as otherwise needed to address tax, corporate, compliance, litigation, and other legal rights and obligations.
